Basketball is back at Poplar Springs!! We are partnering with Upward Sports to offer basketball to boys and girls in Kindergarten through the 6th grade. Our goal is to offer a program to the community that focuses on sharing and creating gospel opportunities while teaching the game of basketball.
Online registration for Upward Basketball opens Sunday, October 1 for boys and girls Kindergarten – 6th grade. All leagues will be COED, unless there’s enough girls to make a separate league. League breakdown by grade is below.
League Breakdown
- Kindergarten – will practice and play on Saturday mornings. Practice will be 30 minutes before the game begins
- 1st & 2nd Grade – practice one day/week with games on Saturdays
- 3rd & 4th Grade – practice one day/week with games on Saturdays
- 5th & 6th Grade – practice one day/week with games on Saturdays
League Dates:
- December 3 & 4 – Evaluations (If necessary, we will add December 5th)
- Week of January 2 – Practices Begin
- January 13 – Games Begin
- March 2 – Last Game
Cost:
- Early Registration Fee: $75 (thru November 1)
- Regular Registration Fee: $85 (after November 1)
Registration fee includes jersey and basketball
Teams:
Upward basketball teams are formed based on evaluations that take place on December 3 and 4th. If needed we will open up times on December 5th. Each player will complete drills with and without the basketball. The scores given will help form competitive teams. All players MUST perform an evaluation in order to be placed on a team.

WE NEED YOU!!
We always need coaches!! If you have any basketball knowledge, OR are just energetic and fun, we can pair you with an experienced co-coach. We will also need referees! Training will be provided via Zoom for both referees and coaches.
